Yin is IN
Not love at first sight !
When I first started Yin yoga I hated it. I couldn’t find the stillness, I was irritated with the long holds and didnt think of it as a workout. Since it was the only activity I was able to do and being used to alot of activity I really just wanted to do something. So I started Yin yoga.
Slowly I started to be able to relax more into the poses and I discovered the healing that came with Yin. It tricked a lot of different emotions in me, it tricked physical reactings, I started to heal slowly. A year after I started my Yin yoga Teacher training in Thailand, it was life changing and a very emotional journey.
Why do Yin ?
If you are searching for another approach to your busy life style, if you want stress relief and maybe emotional healing. Yin can diffently guide you in the right direction. But also if you just come to stretch deeper, Yin can help.
Yin yoga focuses on your fascia, the tissue around muscles and organs. Most of the poses will be performed sitting or lying down in a more passive manner and the asanas are hold in a longer period of time, depending on if you are a beginner or more experienced yogi
Here is an overview what Yin can help you with
∼ Increased mobility ∼
∼ Increased circulation ∼
∼ Organ function ∼
∼ Stress relief ∼
∼ Stillness of mind ∼
∼ Breathing ∼
∼ Healing emotionally ∼
∼ Balances the internal organs and improves the flow of chi or prana ∼
∼ Neither Yin nor Yang is absolute ∼
Yin doesn’t come without Yang. Like the day needs the Night, the Sun and the Moon.
Nothing is completely Yin or completely Yang. Each aspect contains the beginning point for the other aspect.
With Love
